Alaska Airlines and Delta offer daily flights to and from Seattle. Upon arrival, a 4 Monsters Fishing Charters crew member will transport you and your group to the vessel.

• Layers: In Alaska, layers are key. Pack multiple layers of short sleeve shirts, long sleeves, vests, fleece, and a lightly insulated jacket.
• Pants: Bring cozy pants to lounge around the boat and outdoor pants for excursions. Jeans and fleece pants are great options.
• Bathing Suit: For the hot springs or for those daring souls wanting to swim in our cold waters.
• Shoes: Tennis shoes are fine, but we suggest waterproof or water-resistant outdoor shoes for beach excursions and hikes (e.g., Keens, Bogs). We also provide Xtratuf rubber boots, which are the best all-around option for Southeast Alaska’s outdoor activities.
• Rain Apparel: Lightweight pull-over rain pants and a jacket for rainy days. We provide fishing raingear, but you may find your own more comfortable for shoreside excursions.
• Lightweight Gloves: For those chillier days.
• Personal Fishing Gear: While we provide all necessary equipment, feel free to bring any personal fishing rods, reels, or tackle you’d like to use.
• Toiletries and Linens: We provide toiletries and linens just like a hotel, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand soaps, towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Please bring any additional items you may need.
• Luggage: We request guests use duffels or soft-sided luggage for ease of storage aboard.
• Outlets: The boats are equipped with 110v outlets throughout.
• Sunglasses: For those beautiful sunny days on the water!
• Binoculars: We have some aboard, but you may want to bring your own.
• Cameras and Accessories: Bring your camera, batteries, and extra memory cards to capture the memories.

Your fishing license, king stamp, and shrimp permit will be waiting for you to sign upon arrival and are included in the excursion package.

For our regular 5-day excursions, we travel in protected waters as well as on the open ocean, so sea-sickness needs to be addressed. Preventative meds should be taken by guests prone to motion sickness. For those particularly sensitive, we suggest “3-day patches” or a product called “Gravol,” a time-released tablet that has shown great results. Please bring an adequate amount for the duration of your excursion.

Within our operating area, we have a plethora of birds, bears, and marine mammals. Several remote islands host tens of thousands of nesting seabirds, a natural wonder to view in person. Various species of whales and porpoises are nearly constant companions with their incredible habits and behavior. Bears are frequently seen grazing on beach grasses and salmon in the creeks later in the summer. If bear viewing is a MUST, please inquire about trip dates to ensure you are aboard during our peak salmon run dates. Wildlife is our strong suit, and we would love to share it all with you!

Yes, there is Wi-Fi and cell service on the 4 Monsters via use of our Starlink. Also, there is cell service while in port in Petersburg. The vessel is equipped with a satellite phone for emergency situations.

The amount of daylight depends on where you are and when you are traveling, but in the height of summer, you can step out on deck at 11 p.m. and enjoy splendid views of Alaska’s pristine scenery and abundant wildlife.
